Magistrates' Association Staff
The national office has a staff complement of six full-time and six part-time* employees who are based at the Association’s freehold premises in London W1. Staff assist members in their duties and respond to work generated by the Association’s Council, Standing Committees and Honorary Officers. Every day the office handles letters, telephone calls and e-mails from members, government departments and other key players in the criminal justice system, associated organisations, students, the general public and so on.

PATRICK CRACROFT-BRENNAN FCA As head of staff, Patrick has overall responsibility for the management of the organisation and finances. He supports and reports to the Board of Trustees and provides assistance to the national officers. Telephone (main switchboard): 020 7387 2353

Ann has worked at the Association since 1994 and is a magistrate in outer London and well placed to answer general members’ queries. She has overall responsibility for communications, with specific responsibility for the following:
She reports to the Board of Trustees on communication issues and is supported in areas of work by a deputy chairman. She liaises with communication officers from other organisations on a regular basis. Telephone (main switchboard): 020 7387 2353 Brian has responsibility for finance, membership records and statutory compliance, supporting the work of the Executive Director and other staff, the Honorary Treasurer and the Board of Trustees. He is the principal liaison point between the Association, the auditors, investment managers and branch treasurers. Brian can be contacted on any financial matter. Leora is the Committee Officer for the Support, Training and Development Committee and handles all enquiries relating to magistrates’ development, such as appraisal, mentoring, justices’ training and national support issues. As well as conducting research and collating responses on training issues, she is responsible for issuing Training Briefing, a monthly newsletter on national training issues and writes occasionally in the Magistrate on behalf of the committee. She co-ordinates and organises a variety of training events and co-ordinates the production of training materials for the Association. Any enquiries regarding Association Magistrates’ Area Training Committee Nominees, Bench Training and Development Committees and Branch Training Organisers should be made to her. Yvonne deals with the Family Courts standing committees. She works closely with the chairman and can be contacted regarding any family court matter.
